Some highlights of the story follow ...
We're not sure where the name Stump Pass Beach came from, but just in case this could have been the stump in question, we chose to photograph it, especially since Nathan eagerly volunteered to push branches aside and stand on it.
Nathan immensely enjoyed his trip to the State Park, as did Grandpa. Everything and anything Nathan wanted to explore we explored. And there was much to fascinate and discover. We saw a man catch a fish, we saw a boat go down a back waterway and make many waves come ashore, we saw interesting birds and followed a foliage-covered pathway.
Here is Nathan hollering at a crossroads. I asked him to say "Cheese" for the photo and snapped when he started to speak. However "Cheese" is not what initially came out which explains why his expression looks different. As for what he actually said, more details on that below.
On the State Park Beach I took several shots of pelicans hoping to bag a good one. I think this was the best of the lot.
The video below presents another occasion when I asked Nathan to say "Cheese" for the camera. By now, having learned his unique way of doing this, I chose to use video instead of taking a still shot. Enjoy.
